Welcome to visurus!

I’m a Switzerland-based geoinformation specialist (spatialist). Besides spatial (GIS, geography, remote sensing, cartography) things I’m also interested in visual design, information visualization and more.

visurus.wordpress.com is a place where I occasionally jot down some of my thoughts, collect stuff I do (visualisations, geo/GIS stuff, coding, …), highlight cool things I come across on the web and hopefully share some interesting ideas and have an exchange with people, i.e. you. Looking forward to it :)

PS: Why “visurus”?
It’s Latin and it means roughly: “about to see”, “about to understand”. It thus links visuals and understanding and also aptly describes the state of constant learning.
